“Congragulations Obama you made history, now lets see if you can write it” -Friend.
Tonight was one of the most important days in the United States since, I can remember. We have the worst debt in U.S. history; our nation is as divided as I can remember. Not only this, we today would either elect a women V.P. or an African American President. This was also my first election where I could exercise my right to vote. This was the day we, the United States elected the next leader of the free world.
We elected Senator Obama. Yes, I said we. Even though I did not cast my vote for the senator, we as a nation did. I wanted McCain to win. I did not want McCain to win on race, I wanted him to win because I believed he was the most qualified and experienced to lead the U.S. I also stood with McCain on many of his ideas for this country. I would have to say I am a very strong conservative, but tonight we did not win the race. Therefore, I will follow what McCain said; I will support Obama to straighten the ship. Maybe not on every issue, but we can both agree on one thing, we love the United State.
I have yet one more thing to say. I read this from a friend, and I believe it has a grave meaning. Whether you are a supporter of Democrats or Republicans, tonight made history. I am a strong Republican, in every way, shape, and form. But, I will have to say one final thing, “Congratulations Obama, you made history, now let’s see if you can write it.”
